Whether it’s the cosiest country pubs, the swankiest wine bars, prize winning pizza parlours or the tastiest restaurants, we’ll be talking up the hottest venues in a county renowned for its food and drink.

We’ll be asking readers for their top tips on where to go – and throwing in some of our own suggestions too.

This week we’re giving you the lowdown on the best sandwich shops.

Folks rave about this place on TripAdvisor. “Fab food and cakes, lovely, friendly staff, and always a great welcome for you and your dog,” says one reviewer. “Great cafe and fantastic location,” says another.

“Food, value and hosts are perfect," writes another fan. "Do yourself a favour and make a visit. Regularly visit and never been disappointed. We’ve always felt welcome. They do a really good breakfast, I can also recommend the pie and peas.”

2. Green Chilli Deli

Green Chilli Deli And Sandwich in Blackburn was hailed by readers.

“I would highly recommend this place,” writes one. “I also bought one of their cheese cakes which didn’t disappoint.”

“Really tasty fresh local produce cooked in a clean and friendly environment, perfect for breakfast and lunch,” adds another.

“Give the homemade cheesecake cups a try – amazing.”

3. Wright's Bites

This lovely sandwich shop was recommended by a good few readers. “Awesome little cafe, wonderful full English, lovely friendly service and staff, would recommend to all,” wrote one.

On TripAdvisor it is described as having a friendly atmosphere. As a side note, it also serves a Scottish breakfast for anyone missing some decent square slice sausage and ‘totty scones’.

4. The Wild Flour Bakery

Great food, good choice and quirky daily specials, writes one reviewer online. We visit for a treat now and again and love it here. The speciality sandwiches are very tasty. Everything is made fresh while you wait. Also had the chocolate brownie which was so good. We always recommend Wild Flour to anyone looking for a sandwich shop in Blackburn.

AFTER asking readers on Facebook to tell us their favourite sandwich shop, one of the most popular replies was this great little place in Accy. One reviewer said it was ‘definitely Sandwich Shack in Accrington'. Open seven days a week, they do breakfasts and lunch and rumour has it they even do a roast dinner delivery service on a Sunday.
