Comedian and TV star, Ted Robbins was the guest of honour at a charity event hosted by the fire service.
Firefighters from Rawtenstall Fire Station held a Macmillan coffee morning on Friday, and raised £200 for the cancer charity.
Mr Robbins, who was the victim of a white goods fire in early April as a tumble dryer set on fire in the basement of his home praised the Rawtenstall crew and kindly returned the favour by judging the cakes at their coffee morning.
The event was held not only to raise money for Macmillan but to promote safety advice in relation to cooking.
People were encouraged to come along to the coffee morning with their old chip pans and firefighters would trade them in for safer deep fat fryers.
