A PENSIONER suffered a broken jaw when he was punched in the face by another man.
Police are appealing for information after the man was attacked in Church at around 7pm on April 23.
The man in his 70s was walking on Princess Street when he was approached by a man driving a red car.
The motorist confronted the man and returned to his vehicle, driving up to York Street.
He then stopped the vehicle and approached the victim again, punching him in the face.
The victim suffered a broken jaw and was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Officers are urging potential witnesses to come forward.
PC Christopher Jobe said: “This was a shocking incident which has left the victim with a serious facial injury.
“We believe a number of people were in the area at the time of the offence and would urge anyone who saw what happened to contact us.
“We particular want to trace the driver of the red car. If you know who this is, please call police immediately," he added."
