NEXT month the Lancashire Telegraph will reveal food hygiene ratings for every takeaway, pub and restaurant in the region for Spring 2019.

We last covered the issue at the start of the year when we looked at ratings in Blackburn with Darwen.

But in May we will delve even deeper, revealing every zero and five star rated establishment in the whole of East Lancashire – and each and every place in between.

And ahead of this coverage, today, we reveal the ratings for every Greggs, McDonald’s, KFC and Subway in East Lancs.

A lot of the major chain restaurants tend to get higher ratings – this is often because bosses at the firms realise who badly just one poor rating could affect the whole brand.

Bigger firms also often tend to have stringent hygiene procedures in place to protect the name above the door of the chain.

And this proved to be the case in East Lancs – although 20 per cent of the restaurants (one in five) did not achieve the full five-star rating. Find out which ones below.

Below, in full are the ratings for KFC, McDonald’s and Greggs. All ratings are correct as of April 30, 2019, according to the Food Standards Agency website.

The Lancashire Telegraph will publish food hygiene ratings in full next month.
