LOCAL election candidate Brian Holden has called in a 30-year-old political debt by getting his former councillor dad William out canvassing for him.

The Tory activist is seeking election to Ribble Valley Borough Council on Thursday.

He has calling on his father's experience to support his bid to represent Dilworth ward Longridge.

Three decades ago Brian was knocking on doors and delivering leaflets for dad William in his successful efforts to becoming a Ribble Valley councillor.

Pausing the family effort tramping to town's streets, Brian said: "It is 30 years since I was on the election campaign trail supporting my father as a candidate in the borough elections.

"Now the favour is being returned as my father is out with me on the streets of Longridge canvassing for my election as a Ribble Vally councillor."
