Budding gardener, Anthony Butterworth, had a collection to be proud of back in the 80s.
The 10-year-old Todmorden Road Junior School pupil had amassed more than 300 cacti (among other plants and flowers), which he took to competitions across the north west, winning 56 prizes, five cups, two diplomas and a medal.
So big was his haul, that his parents had considered building a conservatory on their home in Buttermere Road, Burnley.
