A LAKE District road has temporarily closed over fears of large stones slipping down a bank and on to the highway.
The B5289, between Keswick and Seatoller, was closed to traffic shortly before 11am today following a report about the stones by the National Trust.
A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said a team had been sent out with a digger to help remove them.
The work is set to be complete by 5pm, with the road reopening shortly after.
