A VISIT to a prostitute cost a "customer" £300 after he became enraged when she turned him away.

Blackburn magistrates heard Andrew Gordon McWilliams claimed he had a "business relationship" with the woman and he went round to her flat and handed over three cans of cider as arranged.

He said she took the cider, said it wasn't enough and shut the door on him. He responded by throwing stones at he window causing damage.

McWilliams, 52, of Selkirk Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to criminal damage to a window and was ordered to pay £300 compensation.

Tracy Yates, prosecuting, said McWilliams and the woman had met at Inspire, the drug and alcohol support agency, and since then had a business relationship.

He came round to her flat with three cans of cider but she says she was closed for business," said Mrs Yates.

"She took the cans but then turned him away."

When he was interviewed McWilliams said he had gone round with three cans of cider at her request but there was an argument because she said it wasn't enough.

Gareth Price, defending, said his client realised he should have just walked away but he was angry because she had taken the cans before denying him entry.
