TWO women were trapped in a car after it crashed onto an embankment.
Fire service crews were called to the smash on Whinney Hill Road, Accrington, shortly before 11am today.
The driver of the vehicle and single passenger were stuck in the car and had to be rescued by firefighters.
Watch manager Stephen Cheetham said the car was left 'wrecked'.
He said: "A car left the road and went up an embankment.
"Two women in their early 20s were trapped in the vehicle and we rescued them."
The two women did not suffer any injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage, fire crews said.
