POLICE say disruption near St Aldates station this afternoon was a 'fear for personal welfare incident'.
Witnesses reported seeing numerous emergency vehicles in the city centre this afternoon and a cordon, while both Stagecoach Oxford and Thames Travel reported delays to services.
Thames Valley Police spokesman David Marsh said: "This was a fear for personal welfare incident. Officers attended St Aldate’s in Oxford along with ambulance staff following reports that a man had collapsed at around 2.35pm today.
The incident at St Aldates police station has now cleared and all services resuming normal routes in and out of the city.

"The man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital."

Thank you for your patience.
But one witness, who did not want to be named, labelled the police statement 'very strange'.
They said: "Personally, I wouldn't think that they would have had at least six police cars (and) taped off the road (for a personal welfare incident).
"I was on the bus going back from Botley Road and at least four ambulance cars and vans went passed with a police car in front and behind."
Police have been asked for more details.
