A COMPLAINT has been made to police and council bosses alleging proxy vote malpractice by Conservative election hopeful.
Aurangzaib Choudhry, a candidate for Nelson Town Council in the May 2 poll, posted a picture of himself on Facebook filling in documents.
Pendle Council Labour leader Cllr Mohammed Iqbal has written to its Corporate Director Philip Mousdale alleging they showed him him 'filling out blank proxy vote application forms'.
Mr Mousdale confirmed he had received the complaint and sent it to the police.
A police spokesman said: "We are aware of this image and initial enquiries are being made by Pendle Borough Council."
Whitefield Tory Cllr Nadeem Ahmed said Mr Choudhry and the party had no comment.
