COUNCIL bosses in Nelson say they will set aside £15,000 to revamp town centre shopfronts this year.
Eight premises in Market Square, Scotland Road and Manchester Road benefitted from spending totalling £23,295 during 2018/19.
Nelson Area Committee approved an extra £10,000 for the improvement scheme last June, due to demand.
Eight new jobs were created and a further 20 safeguarded, as a result.
Leftover grants of £5,457 from previous years will now be rolled over and combined with a new allocation of cash, of £9,543.
Council official Mike Williams says the latest money should assist at least five locations to make upgrades.
