A 20-YEAR-OLD man was taken to hospital following a two-vehicle crash.
Emergency services were called to Barden Lane in Burnley at around 8pm on Sunday after a BMW One Series smashed into a lamppost. Police said a Volkswagen Golf was also involved in the incident.
Firefighters cut the roof off the BMW to free the man, who was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.
Officers from the Tactical Operations team closed the road between Windermere Avenue and Barden Marina for around an hour and a half while they dealt with the incident.
A police spokesman said: "We were called to a minor collision at 6.30pm yesterday on Barden Lane, Burnley.
"It was a two vehicle collision involving a Volkswagen Golf and a BMW one series.
"The 20-year-old male driver of the BMW was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with minor injuries."
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called to an road traffic collision involving one car.
"Crews had to use cutting gear to take the roof off the car to access the driver, a man in his twenties, who was later taken to hospital.
"His injuries aren't thought to be serious."

The road was reopened just before 10pm on Sunday.
