Blackburn will have better weather than Benidorm this weekend, as temperatures are set to soar.

The chilly spell we've been experiencing is expected to break by Good Friday, with lots of warm weather being forecast.

And parts of East Lancashire will be basking in sunshine with highs of 18 degrees C on Saturday, making it the perfect Bank Holiday.

According to the Met Office, temperatures will rise throughout the week to give a dry and bright outlook, while Benidorm is looking at a whole lot of rain.

Forecaster Simon Partridge said Good Friday will be pleasant before the mercury rises to exceed 20 degrees C in some areas on Saturday and Sunday.

Mr Partridge said: "After there was a chilly spell this weekend, we are going to see temperatures gradually increase through the week.

"By the weekend we could see in parts of the country temperatures of around 20C, or just above."

The warm weather was forecast for south of England as well as western Scotland and the north west of England.
