The success of a Burnley Ju-jitsu Club has floored its coach, Allan Clarkin.
Pendle Valley Ju-jitsu Club started holding sessions out of Pentridge Mill boxing gym on Holme Street, at the beginning of March 1982, but within two weeks classes were full to bursting.
Mr Clarkin, pictured with son David, said: "The club has been so popular that we had to double the mat area to cope with everyone.
"For the past two years we have been training with another club while looking for somewhere for ourselves.
"When Pentridge Mill turned up we decided to go it alone."
