A THREE-storey cannabis farm has been uncovered by neighbourhood police on a secluded street in Pendle.
Police raided a property in Woodside Terrace, Nelson, on Thursday afternoon, acting on intelligence supplied by the general public.
A Nelson neighbourhood policing team spokesman said that they "located a sophisticated cannabis set-up over three floors.
The electricity supply had also allegedly been bypassed, the officers discovered.
He added: "Two hundred and twenty plants were seized, along with a large quantity of dried cannabis, with a street value of approximately £40,000."
Police have confirmed that one man was arrested, after a search of the terraced property, off Dalkeith Road.
"He is currently assisting with the ongoing enquiries," added the spokesman.
"Our focus is the safety of the residents in the local area, which was at risk due to the bypassing of the electricity to the mains supply.
"Thankfully such a large amount of cannabis has been prevented for getting onto our streets."
