MAJOR roadworks taking place in a town next week will cause travel disruption.

Diversions will be put in place for drivers travelling in and out of Rawtenstall on Monday. Several Rosso bus services which use Rawtenstall bus station will be affected.

A one-way system will be in place along Bacup Road, which means some buses won’t be able to stop there. It is not known how long the works will last. Here is a list of Rosso bus services which will be affected by the changes:

Buses heading towards Burnley won’t be able to stop at the usual stop in the town centre. Instead, they’ll continue along St Mary’s Way, and will pick you up passengers at the stop beside Asda. People travelling towards Manchester still be able to catch the Witchway from their usual stop.

481 and 483 buses on the Irwell Line going towards Bury will stop opposite the fire station. People catching the 481 towards Blackburn will need to catch their bus at the stop next to McDonalds. The 483 to Burnley will pick passengers up at their normal stop.

Passengers travelling towards Rochdale on the 464 will be able to catch your bus as normal.
