A motorcyclist was knocked of his bike during a rush hour crash.

The incident, which involved one other vehicle, happened at around 5.45pm on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Bacup Road and Burnley Road, close to JJ's Diner.

Inspector Mick Johnson said: "We were called by the ambulance service to a crash between a motorbike and a car at the junction of the A671 and the A646.

"The motorcyclist, a male, suffered minor injuries to his thumb and hip.

"The driver of the car was not injured, and no-one else was involved in the crash."
