A STUDENT was filmed being hit repeatedly during a brawl in a college.

Mobile phone footage showed a fight take place in one of Blackburn College’s classrooms.

The footage appears shows a male, wearing dark clothing, cowering in the corner of a classroom at the college in Feilden Street with an attacker wearing a grey tracksuit throwing punches.

The 42-second video, which has been widely circulated on social media, appears to show the male in the dark clothing trying to throw defensive kicks while other students try to break up the fight.

What appears to be a member of staff attempts to defuse the situation before a male wearing a grey top, a dark hoodie and a dark gilet picks up a chair and throws it towards the corner of the room, narrowly missing other students.

This comes as shocking footage also surfaced of a man being kicked in the head outside Debenhams in Blackburn town centre.

The video showed a man punched and then repeatedly kicked in the head.

Another man tries to break up the fight and eventually intervenes to stop the victim being attacked further.

Dr Fazal Dad, principal and chief executive of the college, said the classroom attack took place eight weeks ago.

He said: “The college at the time took immediate and decisive action to swiftly deal with this isolated incident.

“Furthermore the college has a zero tolerance policy regarding any negative behaviour.

In a separate incident two young men were filmed fighting near the town’s Aldi store on Montague Street.

In this video, which is also doing the rounds on social media, both men square up near a primary school and fight until one is beaten to the ground.

Cllr Hussain Akhtar, whose ward includes the college, said: “This behaviour is totally unacceptable.

"These are not boys and girls at this college, they are young men and women and the people involved should know better. The college is a great place and those attending should not have to witness that.”
