DOCTOR Who star John Simm, who grew up in Nelson, has been announced as one of five new stars for the new Game of Thrones prequel.
The former Edge End High student is no stranger to sci-fi, enjoyed a recurring role as The Master in the BBC serial.
Simm is reportedly joining Marquis Rodriguez, Richard McCabe, John Heffernan, and Dixie Egerickx in The Long Night.
The 48-year-old has most recently been on TV screens in the BBC's Collateral and Strangers, for ITV.
Starring Naomi Watt, the highly-anticipated fantasy prequel is set thousands of years before the Thrones saga, penned by George RR Martin.
Jane Goldman, who wrote Kingsman: The Secret Service, is behind the script for the HBO backed production.
