A FUND pot of more than £28,000 can be accessed by community groups in a village.

Since 2016, Scottish Power Renewables (SPR) UK has annually delivered funds for projects and activities based in Cliviger. Grants from £100 to £10,000 are available for voluntary, community and faith organisations in the area.

The funds continue to be administered by Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale Council for Voluntary Service (BPRCVS) and this year's applications will open from April 1.

Gillian Arnot, community liaison officer at Scottish Power Renewables, said: "We hope that the Cliviger Fund will help to support a range of local projects over the next 25 years.”

Last year, a total of £6,800 was allocated to Cliviger's Mount Zion Church which was spent on replacing exterior church doors and upgrading safety facilities to the outside of the building.

Around £1,565 has previously been granted to Cliviger Church Home and School Association for relocation of automated external defibrillator and provision of training last year.

The deadline for applications will be noon on Monday, April 29. If your group has an idea for an activity that Cliviger residents could get involved in contact Tracey Noon at BPRCVS on 01282 433740 or email tracey.noon@bprcvs.co.uk.
