A WARNING has been issued by an East Lancashire travel agents to customers over what they should do in the event of a 'no-deal' Brexit.

Travel specialists Althams, which has severals shops, including branches in Blackburn, Burnley and Accrington, have issued a notice for customers travelling with them after this Friday.

They are adamant that travellers should have six months remaining on their passports, in the eventuality MPs fail to thrash out a timely exit from the European Union and the UK crashes out without a formal agreement this week.

"We strong advise you check your passport and renew it if necessary, so that your holiday is not affected in the scenario of a no-deal Brexit," they have stated.

Travel industry body ABTA has already said flights, trains and coaches between Britain and the continent should not be affected, whatever the outcome of the protracted negotiations.
