DANCE-LOVERS can learn how to master the jive, rock and roll or tango to help raise money for a hospice.

East Lancashire Hospice is offering people the chance to learn to dance for free for its Strictly Come Dancing night next month.

Classes will take place at Blackburn's Step In Time - The Performance Academy dance studio over the next 10 weeks, starting from April 1.

Daniel Mason, who runs the Step In Time programme at the Glenfield Business Park dance studio, said: “I feel extremely lucky to have been asked to assist with what is going to be a very fun and rewarding charity event."

Registration will cost £20, which includes 10 free dance lessons and a place in the showcase final. Details of the date and venue for the showcase final has yet to be released.

Leanne Green, event fundraiser at East Lancashire Hospice, said the event is open to everyone and the money will be raised for patient care.

She said: "Whether you’re a complete beginner or have a dancing background this event is guaranteed to be fun, get you fit and raise vital funds for the hospice."
