A WOMAN has suffered neck injuries in a car crash.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle smash at the junction of Broadfield Road and Willows Lane, Oswaldtwistle, shortly before 3pm today.

One of the drivers was trapped in their vehicle and firefighters had to remove the car's front seats to rescue her.

The woman, in her 20s, was taken to hospital by paramedics. No one else has been reported injured.

Crew manager Gary Drinkwater, of Hyndburn Fire Service, said: "We were called to a collision involving two cars at the junction of Broadfield Road in Oswaldtwistle.

"A woman in her 20s had to be assisted out of the vehicle by paramedics and the fire services and was taken to hospital. She was thought to have suffered from neck injuries."
