Volunteers for a homeless charity gathered outside Blackburn Cathedral on Friday night for an evening of music and food to celebrate the final nightly outreach feed of the winter season.

Since the end of November, Community Spirit has been providing outreach services for homeless people in the town every night, however, from next week, and as the spring season arrives, they will only be carrying out the feeds once a week.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Neil Mistry, who helped to set up the charity five years ago, said: "This is the last nightly outreach for this winter, and it's a celebration of the success we've achieved over the last four months.

"We hold a soup kitchen every Tuesday in Wesley Hall and following this we'll be carrying out weekly feeds on the cathedral forecourt."
