HAVE you got what it takes to be the next singing superstar?

Hit TV show The Voice UK is to hold auditions in Blackburn next month.

Producers are on the look-out for solo artists, duos and trios who are good enough to persuade the show's celebrity judges to turn their chairs rund and make them part of their team when the show returns in 2020.

Steve Burch, manager of the Empire Theatre on Aqueduct Road where the auditions are to be held said: "We are delighted that the Empire Theatre has been selected by The Voice UK to hold one of the regional auditions.

"There is a lot of talent in East Lancashire and it would be great to see artists going on the show after appearing on our stage."

The auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 3, between 11am and 1pm.

Anyone wishing to apply should prepare one song either with a backing track or with an instrument.

Performers must be 16 on or before October 1, 2019 and under 18s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To apply, email thevoiceuk@itv.com with Blackburn Empire - showcase in the subject line.

The Voice UK is currently approaching its final stages on ITV1 on Saturday night. Hosted by Emma Willis, the celebrity judges are Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, Olly Murs and will.i.am.

In 2017, Chorley-born Kevin Simm won the contest. He is now the lead singer with Wet Wet Wet.
