A SINGER-songwriter has spoken out about negative comments aimed towards her for not releasing an album sooner.

Originally from Langho, the 22-year-old Grace Davies hit out at the online trolls on Facebook, after they claimed she was taking too long releasing an album.

The singer wrote: “I’ve been seeing some really nasty messages on my Facebook page, comments etc, recently.

“Please be aware that I am working on my album at my own pace. I will release it when it is, and more importantly when I am, ready.

Since her long post was added to her page, it has received over 700 likes and 300 positive comments.

Many fans came out in Miss Davies’ defence, with users telling the singer to ignore the negativity and continue working and taking time to complete her album.

The former X Factor singer’s EP album was released in 2015.

Grace's statement in full

I’ve been seeing some really nasty messages on my Facebook page, comments etc, recently.

Please be aware that I am working on my album at my own pace. I will release it when it is, and more importantly, when I am ready.

You cannot imagine the time and effort that goes into making a piece of art like an album and the strain this industry puts on someone mentally.

I do not appreciate the “you will be forgotten soon” and the “I’m tired of waiting” messages.
I have been dreaming of being a singer my entire life, trust me - no one has been waiting for this album longer than me.

I have kept very quiet and ignored a lot of messages for a long time, but enough is enough. I have found Facebook to be the most negative platform of all my social media and that is so upsetting to see.

Please don’t put more pressure on me than I am already putting on myself. I would never tell you how to do your job, please don’t tell me how to do mine.

Please also note that I am aware this is a small minority of my supporters and I thank you ALL for still being here.
Every day I count my blessings and know how lucky I am to have such incredible fans and people anticipating my music - that’s so exciting and heartwarming for me.

I’ve been working my socks off for the past 15 months, in studios every single day, writing the most personal songs and putting every single emotion into my music. I’ve been laughing and crying and all in between, but most of all I have had the best time creating an album - which is my absolute dream, and that is all because of you guys. I’m making this album for us all, and I need it to be perfect.

I know you are all excited for new music, so am I - but there is a line between supportive and rude.

For those of you who this post does not concern, I apologise that this had to be said and thank you again for sticking around.
