A MAN who stopped off for a McDonalds on his way home from a night out was stopped by police at the fast food restaurant.
Blackburn magistrates heard Sam Fielding was found to be just over the drink drive limit.
Fielding, 20, of Belthorn Road, Guide, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was fined £150 with £85 costs and £30 victim surcharge and banned from driving for 12 months. He gave a reading of 47 against the legal limit of 35.
Helen Farnsworth, defending, said Fielding had a few drinks earlier in the evening and had called for some food on his way home at Whitebirk McDonald's.
"He did not think he was over the limit," said Mrs Farnsworth.
