DETECTIVES are investigating a potential attack in Clayton-le-Moors yesterday.
Police were called to Grange Street yesterday at around 10.15pm after a witness reported the assault to them.
Officers have said it isn’t clear exactly what occurred and have received no reports from any victim. They are looking to trace a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf in relation to the incident.
Ch Insp Mike Gladwin said: “This incident came in to us from a third party, so at the minute it isn’t clear what happened and we have had no complaints from anybody who may have been a victim.
“Did you see anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the same time? Did you see a dark-coloured Golf being driven towards the scene or making off from the area?
“If you have any information that can help with our enquiries we would urge you to contact us as soon as possible.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact the police as soon as possible on 101, quoting log number 1471 of March 16.
Alternatively independent charity Crimestoppers can be called on 0800 555 111.
