A MUM's birthday celebration turned sour when she was assaulted by her son when they got home.
Blackburn magistrates heard Prem Amos Chada pushed a plateful of ice cream into his mum's face before grabbing her by the legs and trying to throw her into the bath.
He pushed her down some steps and threatened to kill her during the incident at her home in Weir, Rossendale.
Chada, 24, of Doals Gate, Weir, pleaded guilty to assaulting the woman.
He was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, they had all been out for a family celebration and when they got home Chada was heavily intoxicated.
The assaulted only ended when the woman's husband intervened.
"His girlfriend also witnessed the attack and she described him as being extremely drunk," said Miss Akhtar.
"He is not welcome back into the family home."
