A TOWN centre landmark is now surrounded by scaffolding.
The Yorkshire Bank building in Church Street, Blackburn, is undergoing refurbishment work.
The scaffolding, which went up on Friday, is expected to be in place for two weeks.
The windows and window frames are being renovated and repainted and experts will also look at the roof of the building and make any necessary repairs while the scaffolding is in place.
It is the latest stage of the smartening up of Church Street which has already seen new signs on the entrance and windows of Blackburn Market on the other side of the street.
Work is also under way to refurbish the former El Greco cafe in the nearby Waterloo Pavilions to become the Haute Dolci dessert bar.
A Yorkshire Bank spokeswoman said: “We expect the scaffolding to be in place for two weeks.
“It is to allow for the repair, renovation and repainting of the windows and window frames of our Church Street branch.
“We will also do work on the roof.”
