A MAN stopped in Rishton because his car flagged up as having no insurance failed a drugs swipe after the police smelt cannabis.
Blackburn magistrates heard a subsequent blood test confirmed that Jonathan Baffoe was over the legal limit for cannabis.
Baffoe, 23, of Gilbert Street, Chorley, pleaded guilty to drug driving in a Volkswagen Golf in Blackburn Road, Rishton, on September 27.
He was banned from driving for 12 months, fined £250, with £85 prosecution costs and a £30 victim surcharge.
The court heard Baffoe had three passengers and told police they had been playing football.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said his client smoked cannabis from time to time on a recreational basis.
