A SCHOOL'S sold-out performance of a classic children's film with a modern twist has received rave reviews.
Pupils from the Hyndburn Academy brought the magical world of Roald Dahl to life when they performed a stage show based on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Over two-nights young actors sang and danced their hearts out as the production, which featured a number of modern day pop-hits such as Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, took centre stage in front of parents, teachers and fans. They also performed two additional matinee shows for local primary schools.
The academy produced all of the props, with even the parents getting in on the act with helping to build the great glass elevator.
The Hyndburn Academy’s Principal Nicola Palmer said:“Productions such as this form part of the academy’s commitment to deliver an Education with Character – an education which introduces our students to new experiences and helps to broaden their horizons. With this year’s show being another roaring success, we’re now looking to make this an annual event.”
