THE newest tenants of an East Lancashire pub are asking punters to name their own beer.

The White Bull in New Lane, Oswaldtwistle, opens tomorrow night and licensee Josh Blayne Allen, who represents the Immanuel ward on Hyndburn Borough Council, is calling on locals to share their ideas.

Cllr Blayne Allen, said: “It would be great to get people to invest in the pub and tell us what they think.

“So far we have had about 100 comments on Facebook with different names and they are all interesting.

“Each member of staff has a choice of their favourite but to whittle it down from the 100 ideas so far is going to be hard.

“One of my favourites is ‘top o’th lane’ from our location but another one is ‘grab the bull’. The winner will get a free pint and see the name on the pumps.

“We are still looking for people to put forward their options too.”

Last week, the Lancashire Telegraph reported the pub is re-opening after a £40,000 makeover.

Cllr Blayne Allen said he is excited about the challenge.

He said: “All of the stock has been delivered and we are ready.

“We open officially on Tuesday and then we will be having a party weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

“We want to get as many people to turn up and support us.

“We have employed people from Ossie and also our food is locally sourced.”
