A THIRD national food delivery service is set to debut in the Blackburn area.

Deliveroo has announced that it will be launching bike routes locally later this year.

Their arrival follows hot on the heels of Uber Eats coming to East Lancashire, in late 2018.

Just Eat has been in the county the longest.

Now Deliveroo is on the hunt for bike, scooter and motorcyclists to sign up to their rotas.

Dan Warne, Deliveroo's UK and Ireland managing director, said: "We've seen a huge demand for Deliveroo in Blackburn and we’re excited to be launching this month.

"We're really excited to be creating new work opportunities for local people."

The firm says it is preparing to work with a host of Blackburn takeaways, cafes and restaurants in future.
