A HAPPY scene can be seen during the diamond jubilee celebrations at James Street Working Men's Club, Oswaldtwistle.
This picture, taken on June 26, 1969, shows several members seated at one of the tables with drinks in their hands.
Two of the original members who helped start the club in 1909 were presented with cheques at the diamond jubilee concert.
Mr George Roberts, presented £10 to Mr Jack Threlfall, of Duke Street, and Mr Joseph Thompson, of Cross Street.
Mr Roberts, who has been an official of the club for 28 years, praised the two veterans.
He said: "On behalf of the committee and members, I would like to thank you for your loyalty all these years.
"You must have two of the longest records of loyalty to a club anywhere in the country."
