The Hollins 'Let’s Be Foundation' have been shortlisted for the GESS Education Awards due to take place in Dubai.

The Foundation, which is a youth-led social action initiative has been recognised for its work in the community.

The young people involved with the Foundation have been responsible for developing and delivering a variety of social action initiatives that have included elderly tea parties, intergenerational art projects and a monthly hot food kitchen for people in need and the homeless.

Waqar Ahmed, Extended Services Coordinator, The Hollins, said, “To receive international recognition for the amazing and selfless work undertaken by our dedicated young people has been incredibly inspiring and humbling.

"We want to use this platform to continue to serve the needs of our local community and develop a future generation of compassionate leaders”.

The 6th annual GESS Education Awards will be held on 27 February 2019.
