On Monday Angela Smith MP was in the BBC Politics Live studio and was sharing her thoughts on the nature of racism.

She said “it’s not just about being black or a funny tinge … you know, different - B, err from the BME community”. She later apologised for the comment.

But what on earth was a Funny Tinge?
