READING Shuiab Khan’s article on Shamina Begum in the Lancashire Telegraph on February 16 really annoyed me.

Firstly he says the fact that she was only fifteen years old when she left Britain and went to Syria meant she did not have the life skills or knowledge to make up her own mind. My answer to that is girls of this age are far more streetwise than you think. He also said she was a child and therefore deserves a second chance.

What annoys me is the fact she shows no remorse whatsoever, no apology and certainly no indication that she has changed her ways. She expects to be welcomed back with open arms so that our health and benefits system can take care of her and her baby.

She says she has no regrets about going to Syria and she still calls IS terrorists brave.Unlike some other jihadi brides who realised they had made horrendous mistakes and wanted to come home she claims it was what she wanted.

Despite all the horrors she has witnessed she refuses to be contrite and that I find very offensive.Shuiab says we are prejudiced, I disagree it is nothing to do with prejudice. We simply cannot afford to welcome home citizens who remain in any way loyal to IS.
