A GALASHIELS man will stand trial on a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Jordan Cunningham is said to have on repeated occasions encouraged his partner not to attend court as a witness in a pending case against him.

He is also charged with breaching bail conditions by contacting her.

The offences are alleged to have been committed at Blamoral Avenue, Galashiels, and HM Prison Edinburgh between February 12 and 15 last year.

Cunningham, 23, of Forest Place, pleaded not guilty to both charges and  will stand trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court on May 9 with an intermediate hearing on April 23.
