AN investigation has been launched after a vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.
A silver Vauxhall Omega estate parked at Henry Morse Court in Farnworth was ablaze.
Firefighters from Farnworth station were called to the fire in Bradford Street at about 6.30am today.
Crew manager Neil Hill said: "There was a risk of the vehicle reigniting so we had to cut the dashboard and seats out so we could guarantee the fire was out for good.
"The entire car was completely destroyed."
The police have been notified and an investigation will take place to determine how the fire started.
Crews used cutting equipment to make the vehicle safe, as well as a hose reel to put out the flames.
They remained in attendance for about 90 minutes.
