A MAN arrested at 7am because of his "strange" behaviour was found to be in possession of cocaine.

Blackburn magistrates heard Dean Ashley Watson was uncooperative and aggressive with the police when they approached him in Burnley town centre.

Watson, 24, of Aylesbury Walk, Burnley, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine.

He was given a conditional discharge for 18 months and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Dylan Bradshaw, defending, said police who responded to reports of a man acting strangely actually offered to give his client a lift home.
