WHAT is it when a leading Blackburn councillor Salim Sidat flaunts the law by parking on the pavement and just gets away with a police warning?
It was no excuse that he had arrived late for a family meal and he even quoted that his own son was also illegally parked on the pavement.
I agree totally with Councillor John Slater who said Salim Sidat should have known better. The irony of it is the fact that he was awarded an MBE back in 2013 for "Services to the community and Policing in Blackburn. It really is a farce.

He should be setting a good example and not flouting the law.
It amazes me that drivers think it is okay to fully park on a pavement in the first place as pavements were intended for pedestrians not cars.
