A MAN breached requirements of the Sex Offender Register by failing to tell the right police department he had been kicked out by his brother.
Blackburn magistrates heard police were aware of the incident that resulted in his eviction and where he had moved to.
But Christopher Costello didn't register his new address with the public protection unit which monitors sex offenders.
Costello, 30, of Essex Street, Colne, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a notification requirement.
He was fined £40 with £30 costs.
Keith Rennison, defending, said the police were aware he had been asked to leave his brother's home after they had fallen out and where he had moved to.
"He thought there would be some cross communication but there wasn't," said Mr Rennison.
"He should have gone into the police station and notified the correct department."
