A GROUP of military students pushed themselves to the limit while spending a week with the Royal Marines.

Military Academy students from Accrington and Rossendale College visited the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) in Lympstone, Devon, to get the full experience of life as a marine at the end of January.

The group of men from Lancashire trained alongside the Marines by day and slept in the barracks at night - fully submerging themselves in the experience.

Lee Mulligan, Military Academy Curriculum Leader at Accrington and Rossendale College, said: “Throughout the week, our Military Academy students got to experience first-hand what training in the military is really like, taking part in gruelling activities that tested them both physically and mentally.

“Living among the Royal Marine recruits at the centre, the students got a rare glimpse into Royal Marine life, meeting current recruits at different stages of their training programme, and listening and understanding what can be expected of them at CTCRM.”
