HUNDREDS of gins were whittled down to a nifty fifty to tackle the tastebuds of connoisseurs in Clitheroe.

Four nights of junipers and jollity were arranged at Clitheroe Cricket Club for the town’s winter gin festival.

The tipples come courtesy of the well-stocked shelves of King Street’s historic D Byrne and Co.

Promoter Tom Bailey said: “This is the third year we’ve done this now and it really works well for us.

“Each night we have a singer on and we can get around 500 people in for the festival, to raise funds.”

Miranda Myles played Friday, David Jaggs of the Ragamuffins and The Daisy Haynes brightened up Saturday and Georgia Nicole turned out for ‘Sip It Up’ Sunday. Beers from Bowland Brewery were also on hand, for a bit of variety.
