MORE than 20 job losses have been made after a Burnley textiles firm called in the administrators.
Textile Imports, which has been in business for 66 years and is based on the Network 65 business park at Hapton, has blamed cashflow problems for the move.
Twenty-two out of the 33-strong workforce have been kept on as Manchester-based administrators Duff and Phelps look for a potential buyer for the outfit, which has Hamilton McBride and Home Creations among its brands.
The company, which was first established in the Burnley area in 1953, designs, imports and distributes a range of branded home furnishings and has a number of retail business and online customers.
Steven Muncaster, who has been named as the joint administrator alongside Sarah Bell, said: “The company has faced a series of cash flow challenges in recent months as a result of a poor trading position.
“This has been driven in part by the softening of consumer demand which has depressed spending.
“It is however, our stated intention to continue to trade the business as we search for a buyer and would encourage anyone who is interested to contact us.”
