Emergency services were called to a kitchen fire in Colne.
The fire broke out at around 6pm on Thursday at a property in Hall Street.
Fire crews attended the scene and extinguished the fire, which is believed to have been contained to one room.
Police and paramedics also attended and one person was treated for minor burns.
A spokesperson for the fires service said: "The fire started in the kitchen but luckily it didn't spread to any of the other rooms.
"There was quite a lot of charring in the kitchen and some smoke damage too, but we were able to put it out quickly and used fans to ventilate the property."
The cause of the fire is not thought to be suspicious but an investigation is underway to establish exactly how it started.
