THE Mall Blackburn is seeking applications from organisations seeking to become its next 'Charity of the Year'.

This year's holder of the title 'Theo's Warriors' has so far raised a record-breaking £7,000.

The charity was founded by the family and friends of Blackburn schoolboy Theo Power who successfully battles a rare form os cancer.

It support to children battling all forms of cancer.

Applications are now open for local charities to apply to become The Mall’s Charity of the Year as part of its Mall Cares programme.

The closing date is Thursday 28th February 2019.

Janet Cottam, a Trustee for Theo’s Warriors, is urging charities to apply to become the next beneficiary.

She said: “Being crowned the winner was a dream come true and we have thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone at The Mall.

“The total raised so far is incredible. "
