A 62-YEAR-OLD woman is in a serious condition after she was hit by a car on a zebra crossing.
The incident, in Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, left the woman with a head injury, a fractured pelvis, fractured collarbone, broken arm and broken leg.
A 41-year-old man, who was driving a Volkswagen Golf, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving but has now been released under investigation.
The woman was taken to Preston Hospital where she is recovering from her injuries. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at around 5.50pm on January 16.
PC Patrick Greene said: “This collision left a woman with some nasty injuries and we are in the process of piecing together exactly what occurred.
“If you were in the area and saw the car or the pedestrian in the moments before the collision, or saw the collision itself, we would urge you to get in touch.”
